SwiftTune vs n8n
n8n automates your company. SwiftTune runs your AI application.
Both draw workflows on a canvas, and n8n’s is mature and connects to almost everything. The difference is what happens after it runs: SwiftTune treats an AI flow as something to evaluate, monitor for retrieval drift and attribute cost to, deployed on the Cloudflare account you own. For moving data between SaaS tools, n8n is the better tool and this page will say so.
n8n: A general-purpose workflow automation tool with a visual canvas, hundreds of SaaS connectors, and a source-available licence you can self-host.

SwiftTune and n8n, question by question
The same nine questions asked of both products. Three of the answers in our column are not a yes, and they are not a yes on any of these pages.
| Capability | SwiftTune | n8n |
|---|---|---|
| Visual builder that produces the deployed application | Yes Blocks on a canvas. The graph the canvas validates is the graph the runtime versions and deploys. | Yes A visual canvas, the same medium as ours and a more mature one, with years of workflow patterns behind it. |
| Runs the application itself | Yes The platform runs the flow, so the thing reporting on a deployment is the thing that served it. | Yes It runs the workflows it draws, on their cloud or on a server you operate. |
| Deploys into a Cloudflare account you own | Yes Flows deploy into the Cloudflare account you bring. Infrastructure stays billed to you at Cloudflare’s rates. | No Their cloud or your own server. Not a Cloudflare Worker deployed into an account you own. |
| Prompt management for people who do not deploy | Partly A prompt is a field on a block, versioned with the flow that ships it. There is no approval queue for the wording on its own. | Partly The prompt is a field on a node, edited by whoever can edit the workflow. There is no review trail around the wording. |
| Evaluation of prompts and outputs | Yes Evals clusters production traffic, builds eval sets from it, and scores a version against the one before it. | Partly There is an evaluation feature for AI workflows. It is not a quality suite that clusters production traffic and diffs versions. |
| Retrieval quality monitoring | Yes Retrieval Monitor reports recall@K, precision, MRR and NDCG per query cluster, continuously. | No No retrieval quality surface. Recall, precision and drift are not measured for you. |
| Cost attribution by feature, user and prompt | Yes Cost Attribution breaks spend down by feature, user, prompt template and provider. | No No attribution of model spend by feature, user or prompt template. |
| Open source or self-hostable | No Not open source, and there is no build to run on your own hardware. Your flows run on your Cloudflare account; the control plane is ours. | Yes Source-available and self-hostable, which is the reason a great many teams choose it. Nothing here matches that. |
| General-purpose connectors beyond AI services | Partly Cloudflare services, any MCP server and plain HTTP. Not a catalogue of SaaS connectors. | Yes Hundreds of SaaS connectors, far beyond the Cloudflare services, MCP servers and HTTP this catalogue covers. |

Where n8n is better
Three things they do that we do not, or do not do as well. If one of them is the reason you are here, stay where you are.
Hundreds of connectors we do not have
If the workflow touches a CRM, a spreadsheet, a ticketing system and a chat tool, n8n already speaks to all four. Here that is an HTTP block and the authentication you write around it.
You can run it yourself
Source-available and self-hostable, with no vendor between you and the workflow. SwiftTune has no build you can run on your own hardware, and that is a genuine reason to pick them.
It is not limited to AI
Most automation in a company is not an AI application, and a tool that only does AI flows is the wrong tool for the other ninety per cent. n8n covers both; this covers one.
Stay on n8n if the workflows move data between SaaS tools, or if self-hosting is not negotiable.
Where SwiftTune is better
The other half, held to the same standard: each one is a capability in the product today, not a line on a roadmap.
AI-native rather than AI-capable
Evals, Retrieval Monitor and Cost Attribution are surfaces the platform maintains, not nodes you wire up. A regression shows as a diff against the previous version rather than as a complaint.
It deploys to Cloudflare’s edge on your account
The flow runs where your users are, billed to you at Cloudflare’s rates, with D1 and R2 created under the EU jurisdiction. There is no server for you to keep patched.
The graph is validated, versioned and rolled back
Typed ports and cycle detection reject bad wiring on the canvas, versions are diffable, and every tier runs more than one deployment so the previous one is a slot away.
Come here if the workflow is an AI application and you need to prove what it answers, retrieves and costs.
Moving from n8n
Almost nobody should move everything. The workflows worth moving are the ones where a model decides something and you cannot currently tell how well.
What does not come across: every non-AI connector, the community nodes, and self-hosting. If a workflow’s value is that it runs on your own server, it should stay on n8n.
